CAN YOU HELP? Food Drive, December 9 through 14, 2013
During the week of December 9 - 14, Foothills will hold our annual canned food drive, which provides assistance to local individuals and families in need. Students are encouraged to bring canned food donations to the school office. Cans with pull-tab lids are preferred. For more information, please contact the school office.
School begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m. Please plan to give yourself a little extra time for drop-off and pick-up during rainy weather. Please also be vigilant for pedestrians and bicyclists around campus, and follow the directions of crossing guards. Thank you for your patience and support of student safety.
STUDENT DROP OFFS
The following announcement has been posted in our Foothills daily bulletin. This announcement is re-run each month as a reminder. Please make sure you discuss drop off arrangements with your child tonight. Thank you for your support in minimizing disruptions to classrooms during the instructional day.
Student Bulletin Announcement:
Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year, we wanted to take a minute to remind you of our school’s drop off procedures. If you forgot an item at home, such as P.E. clothes, homework, a project, lunch/lunch money, textbooks, etc. it is YOUR responsibility to come to the office during break time or lunch to pick up the item.We will not be sending student reminders to classes. Even if you are NOT expecting an item and realized you forgot something, come by the office and check anyway, it may just be your lucky day and someone may have dropped off that item for you. Thank you in advance, for being responsible students and checking the front office if you are missing or have forgotten an item, whether or not you are expecting it to be delivered.
Construction in the permanent school buildings is continuing at a steady clip. If you've snuck a peek through the fence, you've probably noticed that the steel wall framing is going up on the ground floor, and that construction on the elevator in the quad has commenced. You'll soon see the first trees being planted in preparation of landscape and hardscape plans around campus.
In the interest of student safety, please remind your children to stay out of designated construction areas at all times, including outside of school hours and on weekends. Morning drop-off will follow the same pattern as last year; please enter the driveway at the front of school and pull forward as far as possible. Students should exit the right side of your vehicle, and proceed directly into our interim village campus. As a reminder, students should not be picked-up or dropped-off on Oakhaven west of campus. Thank you, in advance, for heeding the instructions of crossing guards, and being watchful for pedestrians and cyclists around our campus.
Please check back to our website, as we will update our community on the progress of the Foothills construction project in this space. We appreciate your patience, we thank you for "pardoning our dust," and we look forward to another outstanding year at Foothills Middle School.
